Piano Teacher

  • Master of Music Performance; California State University, Northridge

  • Master of Arts in Teaching; Santa Clara University

Zoe is a passionate piano teaching with over 10 years of teaching experience. She earned her Bachelor of Music Performance from XingHai Conservatory of Music in China. Awarded a graduate scholarship, she continued her studies in the U.S. at California State University, Northridge, where she trained under renowned pianist John Perry and received her Master of Music Performance in 2013. After graduating, her growing interest in music educations led her to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching at Santa Clara University, where she expanded her ability in general music education, classroom teaching, and psychology.

During college, Zoe performed both as a solo pianist and as an accompanist for the school’s chamber ensemble, collaborating with musicians on violin, viola, clarinet, oboe, trumpet, vocalists, and many more. In addition to her academic performances, she also played for local schools, medical centers, community events, and church services, bringing music to a wide range of audiences.

As a dedicated member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and CAPMT (California Association of Professional Music Teachers), Zoe actively engages in the music education community. She prepares students for ABRSM, RCM, and CM exams, with most achieving merit or distinction. However, Zoe believes that music education is more than just learning to play an instrument—it is a journey of personal growth, creativity, and self-expression. She tailors her lessons to each student’s unique strengths and goals, blending classical and contemporary repertoire to develop technic, sight-reading, ear training, and musical interpretation.

With a patient, structured, and encouraging approach, Zoe creates a supportive learning environment where students feel motivated and confident. She always emphasizes the importance of goal setting—whether it is mastering a new piece, preparing for exams and competitions, or simply playing for personal enjoyment. Through her teaching, she strives to instill discipline and a lifelong love for music.
